Up to a quarter of the UK’s working population becomes involved in some form of malpractice during their working career, with significant cost to the organisations that employ them. The Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 makes it imperative that companies have effective risk management policies and procedures in place to deal with the challenge.
For an employee that is aware that dishonest practices are, or may be, being perpetrated in his or her organisation, there can be a problem about whether, or how, to communicate the information. There may also be an uncertainty about where the company stands on whistleblowing and how it would deal with malpractice in the workplace.
Focus EAP assists corporate clients in ensuring that their policies are clearly communicated, understood and integrated into the culture of their organisations.
