Focus EAP Limited has became the first and only organisation in the UK and Europe to be accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA), which partners with human service organizations worldwide to improve service delivery outcomes by developing, applying, and promoting accreditation standards. COA currently accredits 38 different services and over 60 types of programmes, including substance abuse treatment, adult day care, services for the homeless, foster care, and inter-country adoption. The EAPA is the professional body for Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs). It represents the interests of professionals concerned with employee assistance, psychological health and well being in the UK. Focus is ISO 9001:2000 accredited. This internationally recognised standard of an organisation’s Quality Management systems ensures that products and services satisfy quality requirements and comply with relevant regulations.
As part of our ISO 9001: 2000 Quality Assurance programme, BenchamarQ carries an annual customer satisfaction survey on a random selection of Focus clients. Currently, Focus EAP Limited has achieved the highest rating for our high level of customer satisfaction- a Gold Star Award.

Focus is a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and its Association of Counselling at Work division (ACW). Its work ranges from working with voluntary agencies and supporting independent practitioners to assisting the NHS on service provision and advising schools on setting up a counselling service. BACP also participates in the development of counselling and psychotherapy at an international level.
- Criminal Records Bureau
Focus is registered with the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB), an Executive Agency of the Home Office. The CRB was set up to help organisations make safer recruitment decisions by identifying candidates who may be unsuitable for certain work, especially that involving children or vulnerable adults.
Focus uses the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) for a national "Disclosure" service to obtain information on criminal records. The role of telephone and face-to-face counsellors places them in a position of trust with vulnerable people and it is essential that we safeguard the interests of our clients. Disclosure information is not used to discriminate unfairly against candidates who have a criminal record. We insist that all applicants to Focus obtain a CRB Enhanced Disclosure.

Focus is a member of the Telephone Helplines Association (THA), recognised as the main source of specialist information about setting up and running non-profit helplines in the UK and Ireland. Its 400 plus members include most national helpline services such as Samaritans, Shelterline, ChildLine and Cancer BACUP as well as many local and regional services. Focus is registered with the Information Commissioner under the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998. This notification covers general uses of data concerning individuals and includes both paper files and electronic storage of data within the scope of its provisions.
